ROCKAWAY, NJ – The Morristown boys fencing team may have come up short of Morris Hills in the county tournament, which is scored on individual performance and throws in a mix of other teams.
But head to head, the Colonials took down the county champions on Monday night.
Morristown took a 16-11 decision over the Scarlet Knights in a road match to improve to 8-2 on the season.
The Colonials cleaned house in the Foil matches, where they crushed Hills by an 8-1 margin. Senior Ean Weiss and junior Johnathan Nulman each swept their three matches, while Jayson Butts contributed with a 2-1 day.
Senior Daniel Ribaudo went 2-1 with the Sabre weapon to keep Morristown’s margin of defeat in that card down.
