Saturday's Groups 1-4, Non-Public-A meet at Franklin High School included four unified events, and all eyes were on Morristown.
When the events took place, the spotlight was solely on the unified athletes of the Colonials, who were the only Unified program to compete on Saturday at Franklin High.
The Colonials ran in the 100m and the 4x100m relay, and also participated in the unified field events which included the shot put and long jump.
In the field events, senior Dyla Acree took the shot put title for the Colonials with a throw of 28-03, with teammate senior Colin McAllister taking second with 23-00. The long jump was won by freshman Jordan Rempson, who jumped 12-01.
On the track, Morristown won the 100m dash, where sophomore Anthony Morellitook first with a time of 15.52, with Rempson taking second just behind him with a time of 16.84.
In the 4x100m relay, Morristown had two relay teams that competed. The Colonials' one relay team of Anthony Morelli, Elijah Collins, James Kannisto, and Sylvie Michaels finished with a time of 1:11.13. The other unit finished less than a half second behind, as Dyla Acree, Collin McAllister, Stephen Murray, and Angeline Baker combined to run a time of 1:11.60.
Two other events, the 400m dash and the 4x400m relay were originally scheduled to be held, but ultimately were scratched.
