The NJSIAA Meet of Champions is the final event of the 2017-18 New Jersey high school cross-country and track and field circuit.
And thanks to junior Kayla Morgan’s big weekend in the shot-put event at the Group 4 championships at Franklin High School over the weekend, Morristown High School will be represented there.
Morgan finished fifth in Group 4 with a throwing distance of 40-01.50, and that was enough to send the Morris County champion onward to Northern Burlington next weekend for the final and most prestigious meet of the season.
“It’s a great achievement for Kayla and for our program to again be represented at the Meet of Champions,” said veteran Colonials coach Paul Buccino. “She’s only a junior, so this is a great chance for her to build on her season and county title, and go for a personal record next weekend.”
